SentientArt explores the creation of interactive, evolving, and intelligent art. Modern media ( desktop computers, micro-controllers, electronic sensors, an the inter and intra nets )  along with advances in software design have unfolded virgin vistas of expression. SentientArt, through the use of such technologies, investigates the emerging and emergent properties of such media.   Art informed by technology|Technology informed by art are not without historical precedent. From Brunelleshci's geometric perspective to the more modern praxes of chemistry and photography, electrical engineering and video, and physics and architecture, such hybrids have only served to strengthen the lines of both genitors. With the advent of silicon chips and the advances implied by Moore's Law, the number and virility of such hybrids can only increase. SentientArt arose to explore the phenotypes and genotypes of such developing hybrids.  Founded in the year 1999 by Kelly Davis, Mike Mittelman, and Aleksey Zolotaryov and based in Washington, DC, SentientArt acts to create that which embodies the current symbiosis between art and technology.
